OUR VERY BEST!

OUR VERY BEST!

I truly have enjoyed writing these devotions. It is such an amazing and encouraging thing, really a privilege, to be able to share God’s Word with you! Today, is no different from the standpoint of enjoyment, but it is different from the reality of the book we are entering into.

Leviticus is one of the dreaded books of the Bible by most individuals, myself included. There are so many laws listed out. So many instructions for sacrifices given. I sometimes wonder how in the world will I get ANYTHING from this—don’t throw stones at me, you know you have been there too! :)

My devotion from this morning has 2 parts—the practical and the Biblical.

Part 1 - I want to encourage you to be in God’s Word. Read it. Know it. Love it! Study it! When you read God’s Word, truly take just a moment before you start, and ask God to give you SOMETHING. Just one thing. If we ask, it will be given. Make your Bible study time YOUR time! Don’t worry about what others will think about your walk with God, and what He has given you! We ought to be like Nike, and just do it! Just get in His Word, and if you are hungry for it, I promise you God will feed you! Unless you are way way way way off on your interpretation, I don’t believe there is a wrong deduction from what you read. If God puts something on your heart, then write it down. Cling to it!

There are times I read the Bible and the Lord shows me something I have already been shown that week, and that is ok! He is just trying to remind me, or engrain that truth into my heart! Please, don’t stop putting the effort forth to be close with God! JUST DO IT! That leads me into what the Lord showed ME today!

Part 2 - This morning, we read Leviticus 1-4, and we learned about the diferent offerings. These offerings required an unblemished animal or unleavened bread. This is what the Lord showed me today. We need to give God our best!

Thousands of years ago, God gave us His best, Jesus. He sent Him to die on a cross to provide us with salvation and hope! If God gave His best, we ought to give ours. That may mean giving God more of our time. Spending time with Him, being more faithful to church, or in Bible reading and prayer. That may mean giving our talent to be used how God sees fit. We should never squander away the talents He has blessed us with—use them for His honor and glory! That may even mean, we give monetarily to the Lord and His church. Maybe you don’t tithe, and you need to start. Maybe you tithe, but God has been telling you to give more. I don’t know your situation, and I don’t know what God is saying to you, but you do!

Beloved, let’s give God our best! Our very best!
Not our leftovers! Not our second rate.

OUR VERY BEST!!!!!
