OUR FULFILLMENT pt.3

As we finish up these devotions talking about the different offerings, one thing has actually hit me as I type this. These people didn’t think it strange at all to do what the Lord had commanded. They didn’t bark back at it. They didn’t rebel against it. They were willing to do WHATEVER the Lord had commanded. We would do so much better in this lifer we live, if we would follow that same recipe. Just obey and listen to whatever god tells us to do! Without further ado, here are the last two offerings!

4. The sin offering. We see this in Leviticus 4. Sin separate sis from God. We could never bridge that gap to save ourselves. We could try, and many do, but we would fail EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. It would be like knowing you are going to fail a test, but continuing to try and take it to pass. It would never work!

But Jesus is that fulfillment of the sin offering for us. Jesus died on the cross the bridge that gap we needed. Listen to what Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:21 - “He made the one who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

Perfection meets pain. Righteousness takes on flesh. Take notice of what the verse says—God made Jesus to be sin……not just take on our sin. Jesus became sin, so that it’s power and dominion over us would die with Him on that cross. The eternal sacrifice was made on Calvary, and us guilty sinners get to go free if we accept the free gift of salvation!

 5. The guilt offering. This is outlined for us in Leviticus 5:14-19. Essentially, this is the same procedure as the sin offering, except this was done when someone sinned in regards to holy things.

I read this quote in regards to the guilt offering. “If one has been unfaithful in the holy things of Jehovah it is not enough that one should confess and bring a sin-offering. Restitution must be made for the wrong done; it must be put right. There was something due to God that was not rendered in its season, and things will not be right until it is rendered.”

Jesus Christ made that restitution. He fulfilled the demands of the guilt offering for us. Romans 4:25 - “He was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.”

Every single sin we have ever done or will ever do, has been removed from our account, because it has already been made right by the death of Jesus on the cross! We never have to worry about condemnation! Paul reminds us in Romans 8:1 that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.

As we head into the weekend, just remember what God has done for you! Think of how much Jesus loves you, to be willing to become the payment for your sin!
