NO MATTER WHAT!

 I have recently started to read the Bible through chronologically, and naturally I have begun in the book of Genesis. Today, I read chapters 7-11. In chapter 8, Noah and his family were told by God they could get off of the ark. And do you know what the first thing that Noah did was? He didn’t build a home, or find food, or even set up shelter. The first thing he did was worship and sacrifice to God.

Genesis 8:18-20 “18 So Noah, along with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, came out. 19 All the animals, all the creatures that crawl, and all the flying creatures—everything that moves on the earth—came out of the ark by their families. 20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.”

I am sure that the 100+ days they spent on that ark were hard. They were tested. Maybe they even sometimes began to think “has God forgotten about us?” But even after all of that, Noah worshipped God. How about you? When you find yourself in a trial or testing, or maybe just a season of waiting or uncertainty, what will you choose to do? Complaining is an option, and it's easy to do. Doubting is another avenue we often explore in our lives. Worry is a very common reaction, and one we all react with from time to time. May I just encourage you today, worship God! Trust Him, in the good and bad. Make it your habit and practice, to worship and praise God NO MATTER WHAT!
