IS ANYONE LISTENING?

Job 31:35 - “If only I had someone to hear my case! Here is my signature; let the Almighty answer me.”

Have you ever been talking, maybe telling a story or just chatting about your day only to realize that no one is listening to you? Or maybe you are on a phone call talking away and you eventually realize the call had dropped and you have spent the last few minutes talking to no one.

Those times make you feel silly, unheard, and maybe even discouraged. Job has been going through it. His friends are coming down on him wrongly, and he has lost everything. Job says that he wishes he had someone to hear his case. Without hesitation, I will tell you I have been there before. I have had moments in my walk with God, where I felt that no one was listening. I felt as though God wasn’t there. I felt like I was talking to no one. But I want to encourage you with this, those thoughts do not come from God. Satan is working overtime. He is doing his best to get you to doubt the promises and goodness of God. He will tell you that God doesn’t listen or care. He doesn’t have time for you. God has more important things to deal with!

SATAN. IS. A. LIAR.

Let that sink in. God has promised to never leave you or forsake you, right? He has promised to call and He will answer. He says if we draw nigh to Him, He will draw nigh to us. Can I tell you what kind of God MY God is? He is a promise keeper. He is a good Father. He answers when I call! Heres a few things to remember as we head into the weekend.

  1. When you face anything in this life, run to God first! He shoudn’t be a last resort. He has all the answers. He cares for you! So run to the Father!

  2. Don’t put on a front with God. He already knows every thought you think. He knows every request you make before you make it. He knows thoughts, intentions, feelings, and He still loves us anyway. BE HONEST WITH GOD!

  3. Be bold in your prayers. We are told in Hebrews to come BOLDLY to the throne of grace. PRAY BIG PRAYERS. Approach the throne of your Father boldly.

Prayer is our communication with God. Don’t limit it. Make it a regular part of your life! And unlike Job, you and I dont have to worry if there is someone to listen to us. God is always listening!
