HE LIVES! HE LIVES!

Yesterday, we found ourselves in Job 17-20. I will catch you up very quickly, so we can all be on the same page. Job has lost everything. Literally everything. His wealth has vanished. His children are dead. His health is gone. All he truly has is a wife, who has told him to curse God and just die(what an encouraging wife she was!). Job is in a time of grieving and mourning, and his 3 friends Bildad, Zophar, and Elipaz come to help him. For 7 days straight, all 3 of them sat in silcence with Job as he mourned. Then they began to speak, and its not what Job expected by any means. As you read these chapters, you will find that these 3 friends accuse Job of having sin in his life, and that is the reason God is putting him therough all of this. Imagine being Job. We as the reader, have a birds eye view. We know that Job is going through all of this because God is allowing him to, but not because of sin. But Job doesnt know that. Job is in the dark, just going through trial after trial, suffering after suffering. But I want you to see what Job says in the midst of all of this!

Job 19:25–27 (CSB)
25 But I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the end he will stand on the dust.
26 Even after my skin has been destroyed, yet I will see God in my flesh.
27 I will see him myself; my eyes will look at him, and not as a stranger. My heart longs within me.

Job in the midst of all of what he is facing, states that he knows his Redeemer lives. He has confidence in God, even in the middle of the toughest thing ever has faced or ever will face. As I stated yesterday in the message, we are all going to face hard times, but the beauty of trials is that they have a purpose and they dont last forever. They’re not permanent! Like Job, instead of looking at the storm, look at the God of the Storm. Know in your heart that “He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today”! And that makes it all ok!
