GOD MADE IT EASIER!

I enjoy when things are easy. I believe we all do. When things just fall into place, it really is a wonderful thing!

In the first chapter of Numbers, Moses is told by God to take a census of the people. You can read the whole process in Numbers 1, but the total number of men 20 or older, able to be in the army was 603,550. That is a lot of people to number and count.

If you remember back Exodus, Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, made a suggestion to him. He saw Moses was doing a lot of work and had a lot on his plate, and so he suggested that Moses separate the people into groups of thousands, hundreds, fifties, and tens—and appoint leaders over those groups.

God had allowed Jethro to impart wisdom into Moses, knowing that this would be useful later on down the road.

Very simply this morning, you and I are told to do things by God all the time. And sometimes, in the moment, they may not make sense. That doesn’t mean that God does not have a purpose behind it.

You never know what God is up to. That senseless thing, in our mind, that God has told us to do, may not be so senseless down the road.

You see, God is a God of order. He has rhyme and reason to EVERYTHING He does or says! You and I can take comfort in knowing that our unknown future is in the hands of an all knowing God!

God made it a bit easier for Moses, way back when!

TRUST HIM! Obey Him! Seek Him. Know that He has a plan!
