CONSEQUENCES!

We are all familiar with consequences. We face them every day for every decision we make. Both good choices and bad choices have consequences. In this life, we must understand this truth! “We can choose our actions, but we can’t choose our consequences.” I want to give you 2 quick truths about sin and consequences from Numbers 14.
1. Sin will bring negative consequences. The Children of Israel have sent out spies to look at the promised land. They came back, and said “This land looks great and God has promised it to us, but we can’t take the land.” They doubted an all powerful and providing God! That sin cost them the promised land. They faced consequences for their actions.
2. Your sin does not just affect you! In Number 14:33, it says that their children will bear their iniquity. Their children will suffer BECAUSE of their parents sin, not their own. You and I must understand that people are coming behind us. People are watching us! And when you and I do wrong, that will affect more than just me. If I were to have an affair, that would affect more than just me, right? My wife and children would be affected. My church family would be affected. My friends and community would be affected. We need to consider the consequences that could happen, because of our sin.
Today, just think through what you do! Truly consider whether or not you should say that thing or go to that place.
Remember, you can choose your sin, but you can’t choose your CONSEQUENCES!
