A BOOK IN REVIEW!

It really is an amazing thing, to know that we possess the very words of our living God! The Bible has so much truth for us, paving the way for our holy, Godly living! The problem is, we often overlook books of the Bible because they aren’t “flashy” enough for us!
Joshua is a great book because of war, conquest, and leadership!
Ruth is an amazing book where we see God intertwined through every single page and story!
Proverbs is in high regard because of the wisdom we can find.
The Gospels tell the life of Jesus.
Romans tells us what it means to be saved!
James is the Proverbs of the New Testament. Revalation is………..well revelation! It speaks for itself!
LEVITICUS is not a book we really look to or put high up on our reading list. I have been guilty of that as well. But this time reading through it has been different for me. God has really shown me a lot through this book, and I pray and hope that I have conveyed some of that to you! I want to share with you the 4 MAJOR things we learn from Leviticus, and I hope it is an encouragement and help to you today!
1. Christ fulfilled the necessary requirements of the law(chapters 1-7)
We could never measure up to the standard of the law, even if we tried! Jesus came, and was made a human sacrifice for us, so that we could know, love, and serve God! We are no longer bound by the demands fo the law, but we enjoy the benefits of His grace!
2. There is a distinction between right and wrong—clean and unclean(chapters 8-16)
From the very beginning, God has always made it clear that there are certain things that are right and certain things that are wrong! We need to take notice of that! Humans try and exist through life without acknowledging that there is a right and there is a wrong. I am not speaking of opinion, because that is opinion. It is up to the individual! But, there are clearly marked things in this life that are good, and things that are bad! We should hold to the good, and let go of the bad!
3. We are to be holy, because He is holy(chapters 17-24)
A perfect life isn’t possible, because of our sin nature. That doesn’t mean we should stop trying to be like Jesus! I’m not a fan of Michael Jordan, but back in the day everyone wanted to “be like Mike”. We try and be like our favorite celebrities, music icon, or athlete. When in reality, we ought to be like Christ! He is our standard, and nothing else!
4. Obedience brings blessing(chapters 25-27)
Simply put, there are consequences to our actions—good or bad! We do right, God will notice and bless. We do wrong, God will notice and take action! I would rather be on the blessing side, than the punishment side!
The Word of God is rich, and full of life changing power! May I encourage you, cling to it. Cling to every Word! Find God in every single page and passage! It is all profitable and can help us so much in our life, if we will allow it.
Have a great day!
